Mindfulness is an approach to life that teaches us how to focus our attention, increasing awareness, clarity and acceptance of our surroundings. The frantic nature of modern day life means it can be difficult to quieten our minds and be in the present moment. Mindfulness helps us to pay attention to the present moment. Practising Mindfulness can help us to cope with the stresses of everyday life, as well as manage pain and the psychological impact of long-term health conditions.
This online Mindfulness course, led by NHS CBT specialists, teaches a range of practical exercises which help us to notice our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, touch, taste and sounds simply as they are in the present moment. Many of us are so busy in our heads that we neglect the present moment and live life on auto-pilot mode. Mindfulness techniques help you to experience more out of life by living in the present moment and can be practised for just 10 minutes a day.
We understand that during our mental health courses people may require answers to questions that they have, that will help their learning. If this relates to you please feel free to email us at epunft.questions.therapyforyou@nhs.net, ensuring that the title of your chosen course is in the subject box and letting us know your name and date of birth. We will then ensure a member of the Therapy For You team answers your query within two working days.
